BNI Thistle Chapter

 

What is BNI?

BNI (Business Network International) is the leading world-wide business referral organisation. Its philosophy is based on "givers gain" – if I give you business, you will want to give me business. BNI is organised into local "chapters" who meet every week to learn more about each others' businesses and to refer new business to each other. Chapters can give dozens of referrals a month to members, generating thousands of pounds worth of business. Word of mouth is the most cost-effective form of advertising possible and in 2008, in the UK and Ireland, more than 470,000 referrals were passed, generating £150 million-worth of business for members.

In essence, each individual member has all the other chapter members acting as “sales reps” for his or her business. With only one person per trade or profession in a chapter, there are no conflicts of interest.

Members can also invite visitors along to show them the benefits that BNI membership can offer.
 

Who are BNI Thistle?

A dedicated group of business people who meet early every Tuesday morning(7am) to attend a breakfast meeting at the Thistle Hotel in Glasgow city centre.

The Thistle Chapter of BNI was established in 2009 and its members include a wide range of trades and professions, all working to help each other get more business by word of mouth referrals.

Today, the Thistle Chapter has around 20 members who rise at the crack of dawn to make their way to the meeting. As a reward for the early start, coffee, tea and breakfast is served (usually, cereal, fruit, juice, toast and rolls). More importantly, the members bring business for one another every week - this can value from £1 to £500,000!
